Our Pinot Gris grapes ripen in the best vineyards in the site KREUZNACHER ROSENBERG.
Heat-storing terrace gravel and also deep, water-storing loamy soils, over 40 year old vineyards next to young plots and different harvest times offer multi-layered, aromatic raw material for our high quality Pinot Gris at multiple yield reductions and quality-optimizing manual work.
Pinot Gris wine mostly is dry or off-dry and very full-bodied,
soft and round wine with moderate acidity and an abundance of flavors:
pear, honey, pineapple, green bean, lovage; however,
there are also excellent sweet variations.
The wines produced from early harvested grapes with fresh fruit, keep playing with the fashionable Pinot Grigio from Italy.
The Pinot Gris is a descendant of Pinot Noir.
The Pinot Gris was widespread at the beginning of the 18th century by a businessman
from Speyer named Johann Seeger Ruland in Germany.
Today the the body-oak, heavy and often sweet-developed wines are known as Ruländer.
Grauer Burgunder, Grauclevner, Ruländer (Austria), Pinot Gris, Tokay Pinot gris (Alsace), Pinot Grigio (Italy), Malvoisie (Switzerland), Szürkebarát (Hungary)
