The best quality is our aim in the production of our high-quality Dornfelder red wines. They grow in 30-year-old vineyards on deep terraced gravel soils in the KREUZNACHER ROSENBERG. Only the best ripened grapes are destemmed and carefully fermented on the mash. After fermentation, the finished red wine is pressed and placed in large oak barrels for about 12 months, where it matures harmoniously through contact with oxygen over the barrel surface..
The Dornfelder - wines have a black and tan pronounced color and are delicately fruity or spicy-sharply with moderate acidity.
Higher wine qualities are achievable by consistent yield restriction.
The Dornfelder wines gain by ripening in oak barrels.
The Dornfelder grape is undoubtedly the most successful German new grape variety, an intersection of several relevant varieties grown in Germany.
The variety was originally cultivated as a colour wine.
