Multiple yield reductions, defoliation of the grape zone and a long ripening period result in a complex aroma.

Chardonnay, also known as Pinot Chardonnay, Morillon, Melon blanc or Yellow Pinot Blanc, is characterized by its wide range of aromas: 

Main aromatics are usually starfruit, caramel, honey, vanilla and brioche.

Chardonnay is characterised  by the typical round, mild and soft mouthfeeling.

The first Chardonnay grapes were harvested in the Burgundy, centuries ago. Since the 1990s, Chardonnay gets more and more popular, also here in Germany. With a total of 199,000 hectares, Chardonnay is the most widely grown white wine variety worldwide.
