The red wines were even better, with the 2020 Noir de Noir made from Pinot Noir and Dunkelfelder completely convincing with its harmonious nature. And above all, the straightforward Pinot Noir Reserve 2020 shows skillful development, has class and style. More of it!"

"The Mees family cultivates vines on the lower Nahe on terraced gravel in the Kreuznacher Rosenberg and on Muschelkalk and clay marl in the Kreuznacher Paradies. Their range of grape varieties is broad, it includes Burgundy and bouquet varieties, but Riesling dominates in terms of area. The wines are developed "The whole family is involved as a team. However, the young winemaker Lukas Mees is responsible, as he develops some of the white and red varieties in barriques. Last but not least, we found the red wines - extremely fairly priced - very appealing."
